Chris Tinkler grew up in South Africa where at the age of 23 he found his way into the world of safari guiding.
Training under one of the most senior and experienced guides in the Kruger, Chris then went on to work at North Island Lodge as deputy manager of conservation on the island, taking charge of the turtle research programme. This two-year stint was followed by a time in Zambia guiding, after which he took a job with &Beyond, first as a tour operator organising itineraries for guests and inspecting lodges, then in international sales, travelling around the world, marketing &Beyond products to other operators.
After getting married to Sam, Chris guided in Kenya, then South Africa, and finally Tanzania at Ruaha National Park, one of his favourite destinations, and where he spent three years opting for a huge step change, and migrating with Sam to Brighton.
As a senior destination specialist, Chris works closely with the sales team organising guest itineraries and after travelling around Ethiopia, will be helping to head up the Ethiopia desk.
