Hotel 2 Février is located in the very heart of the capital, overlooking Lomé’s Independence Square. Something of an icon, the hotel stand 102 metres high, has remained the uncontested tallest building in Togo since it was built in 1980, and prides itself on being the city’s most luxurious 5-star offering.
Overview
Largely made of glass and finished in marble, Hotel 2 Février has 256 rooms and apartments spread over 28 floors, which offer wonderful views of either the city or the ocean. The hotel includes a gym, spa, outdoor pool, three restaurants, two bars, and even its very own shopping parade. WiFi is available throughout.
Food & service
Hotel 2 Frevier offers a wide selection of dishes throughout its three restaurants. Regardless of where you eat, the standard is exceptional, with the in-house chefs priding themselves on their innovative new ideas. Service is also impeccable, as can be expected from the capital’s leading 5-star hotel. The award-winning Songhai restaurant is the hotel’s fine dining option focused on pan-Asian cuisine. Namiele mixes local Togolese dishes with international favourites and is famed for its Sunday brunch. Akwaba Pool Bar and Grill is where to head for barbecued meats and fish, as well as classic staples such as pizza. Le Nil is the hotel’s lobby bar, ideal for a morning coffee and a croissant, while Oyo Bar is where to head in the evening for a cocktail and spectacular views of sunset, it being the highest ‘sky bar’ in all of West Africa.
Accommodation
As might be expected, Hotel 2 Frevier offers five room sizes and three apartment types. Rooms come as Standard, Business Class, Junior Suite, Executive Suite, and Presidential Suite. Apartments include Standard, Junior, and Presidential. All rooms are spacious, increasing in size from the Standard room (29m²) to the Presidential Suite (160m²). All rooms have king-sized beds, en suites, and enjoy either sea or city views. All but Standard Rooms have a dedicated work desk, while everything from the Junior Suite upwards also has a separate living area. The Presidential Suite and Presidential Apartment have dining areas suitable for up to ten guests. All apartments have fully equipped kitchenettes, which include oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge. The decor is modern but relaxed – crisp lines and soft lighting – with the exception of the Presidential options, which have more of a classic feel about them.
Activities
Hotel 2 Frevier has invested heavily in activities for guests. These include a variety of packaged ‘experiences’ that guests can select from, such as romantic meals for two, kids’ adventures, and hen party pamper days, all of which take place across the hotel’s amenities. Beyond the grounds themselves, the hotel runs its own guided tours, starting with day trips around Lomé, all the way through to three and four-day excursions discovering the Plateau and Kara regions respectively.
