Lomé

New Robinson Plage Hotel

Explore

Located a 15-minute drive from the centre of Lomé, just east of the city’s port, the New Robinson Plage Hotel is an oasis of calm surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the wider city. Its private golden sandy beach looks out to sea, making it a favourite for locals and tourists alike.

Overview

The New Robinson is made up of a shared area and 14 bungalows set amongst well-kept, verdant grounds, which give way to the sand of the hotel’s beach, where tables, chairs and sun loungers can be found shaded under thatched-roof canopies. The shared area includes a large open-air restaurant and a separate atmospheric rooftop bar, both constructed of a wood frame and corrugated-iron roof and which look out onto the beach and sea beyond. WiFi is available throughout.

Food & service

Hotel service is frequently rated as excellent – attentive, friendly, professional and discrete. Likewise, the international cuisine available at the restaurant is known for its high quality, daily specials, and hearty portions. The rooftop bar offers beers, wines and cocktails. Relaxed and comfortable, the bar has a music-infused ambience and an unbeatable view of palm trees, sand, and sea. The perfect spot for a sundowner.

Accommodation

The 14 rooms are all painted vibrant red, with either corrugated iron or thatched roofs. Built as a series of low-slung terraced bungalows facing either the beach or the plant-filled gardens, the overall feel is one of a relaxed village. Rooms come as: standard double with king-sized beds; family suites with king-sized beds and two bunk beds; a large business suite; and two suites sleeping up to six. All suites are air conditioned with the exception of some standards. All rooms have en suites, desk and chair, and verandas with large comfortable furniture. The style can be summarised as simple, clean, bright, and cheerful.

Activities

The hotel is more than happy to help plan your time in Lomé and its surrounds, from taxi arrangements to full-day trips. These include trips to local villages to exploring Lomé’s famous Vodun (Voodoo) ‘fetish’ market at Akodessawa to sea-fishing trips. Of course, one of New Robinson’s greatest pleasures is simply to sit back on a sun lounger and watch the sea quietly roll in.
