Dave Waddell wrote Wild is the Whisky after a trip to Tanzania with five whiskies and Will Jones, JbD’s managing director.
Dave describes Will as ‘the bloke next door who, unbeknown to you because he never mentions it, lives the dream wildly’. Despite not being a whisky-drinker, the prospect of making it past Arusha customs officers was worth the adventure. After traversing the vast plains of the northern circuit before heading south, the pair eventually ended up in Zanzibar’s famous Freddie Mercury bar.
