There are a huge range of accommodations and experiences available in Zambia. There are charming little bush camps in South Luangwa National Park with world-renowned guides, luxury CondeNaste-listed lodges, unique river houses that offer all the comfort of a hotel in a completely distinctive location, and safari lodges and villa accommodation all across the country: there is something in Zambia for every taste.
That is also true, of course, of the country itself, which encompasses plains, valleys, mountain ranges and escarpments. This means that activities here are incredibly varied. The visitor to the South Luangwa can benefit from the long history of walking safaris in the area, pioneered by some masters, which can involve wonderful and surprisingly luxurious nights fly camping on the river. Kafue National Park offers the opportunity for wet and dry safaris amongst the wildlife of the Lunga River, with very comfortable and well-catered lodges to boot. Alternatively, there is the option of a canoe safari through the Lower Zambezi, one of Zambia’s least-explored areas that nonetheless offers a good range of luxury lodges in which to be pampered after a long day on the water.
