Positioned under ancient ebony trees, the newly refurbished Dulini River Lodge in South Africa is a long-established safari camp offering six luxurious suites with views over the Sand River and savannah beyond.
Overview
Close-up encounters with wildlife and excellent hospitality are what make Dulini River Lodge an ideal choice for getting to know South African wildlife. The main building is set under thatch with open sides to make the most of the surroundings, as well as high ceilings and solid screed floors. The lodge lounge offers comfortable sofas and an outdoor dining area for eating under the stars. Children over the age of eight are welcome and babysitting can be arranged for younger children while parents go on a wildlife drive or dine. If the lodge is taken exclusively there is no age restriction. Free Wi-Fi and a gym with weights as well a running machine, cross-trainer, training lap pool and more is provided.
Food & service
Pan-African meals are complimented by South African wines and served in the traditional open-air boma style, around a blazing fire at Dulini River Lodge. Romantic candlelit dinners in the bush or on the deck of the suites can also be arranged. Sipping sundowners on the main deck while looking over the savannah is an absolute must.
Rooms
Dulini River Lodge offers six air-conditioned spacious suites all decorated in natural, earthy colours with African styling. Thatched roofs and wooden floors provide comfortable and secure accommodation and all suites include an en-suite bathroom with twin hand-basins, separate WC, bath and indoor and outdoor showers. Each suite has a private plunge pool and an open-air viewing deck, with seating and hurricane lamps, overlooking the river below.
Activities
Dulini River Lodge offers expert guides and exclusive six-seater wildlife viewers. Wildlife drives, family wildlife drives, children’s programmes and bird watching are all provided, as well as bush walks with an armed and knowledgeable ranger to explore the local plants.
