Overview
With wrap-around terraces and two rooftop pools providing 360° views of Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain and Robben Island, The One Above is a double-storey penthouse with four bedrooms. A private lift ascends six floors to reach the The One Above, opening onto an entrance hallway with walls showcasing a collection of local artwork. The shared areas include a fully-equipped fitness centre, sauna and a library. On the wrap-around decks are two swimming pools, from where guests can see the sunrise above Table Mountain and then set in the evening below the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean. There is basement parking and 24-hour access-controlled security at all times.
Food & service
The One Above Penthouse has an indoor dining room on the second floor, along with two sun-flooded living rooms. The expansive outdoor area on the first floor has sun loungers, a barbecue area and a dining table, ideal for alfresco meals. A private butler and chef are on hand and guests have access to all amenities at the One&Only Cape Town hotel, which includes their Japanese-fusion restaurant Nobu Cape Town. A large and well-appointed kitchen accommodates state-of-the-art equipment and has a cosy breakfast alcove. The temperature-controlled wine loft houses 280 bottles of the Cape’s finest wines and vintage champagnes, selected by the sommeliers from One&Only Cape Town’s award-winning wine list.
Rooms
Each of the four vast and beautifully-appointed bedrooms features an en suite bathroom, 42 inch flat-screen TV, and private balconies overlooking Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront. The palette is mostly creams and silvers with bleached wood, mirror, thick rugs and imported fabrics. The master bedroom is the best, featuring bespoke twin bathrooms, a fireplace, and a walk-in dressing room.
Activities
Set in the heart of Cape Town’s vibrant V&A Waterfront, the One Above penthouse is in a great location for taking the cable car or hiking up Table Mountain. The boat to Robben Island is close by, as are Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
