Guests are spoilt for food choices at the hotel, which has the panoramic Sky Lounge (we particularly recommend the enjoying a sundowner here), the Library (think rows of books, wooden furniture, and international small plates) and the delicatessen, which is brimming with fresh pastries, cheeses, and meats – ideal for an afternoon picnic in the sun. Executive Chef Sean Stevenson’s British and South African fused cuisine – available across the restaurants – is not to be missed, and the service is exceptional throughout the hotel.
Rooms
The rooms are split into four types: Courtyard Fountain rooms, Courtyard View rooms (31 together), Oasis Lofts, and Family Lofts. The Lofts (10 in total) are best described as a home-away-from home; characterised by wooden flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows in the communal areas, they have aprivate en-suite bedroom, kitchenette, a separate lounge and desk space. The modern bathroom offers a bath tub and walk-in rain shower, while the king sized beds are spacious and comfortable. The Courtyard Fountain rooms are bright and airy – decorated with a selection of white furniture and fittings – and open directly onto a luscious courtyard, while the Courtyard View rooms are much the same: light, contemporary furnishings and full windows ensure a deeply rewarding stay. There is complimentary Wi-Fi is available across the Hotel, and all the rooms have air conditioning.
Activities
The five-star Soulstice Day Spa provides an excellent selection of revitalising treatments for guests wishing to unwind after a safari heavy itinerary. Alongside signature manicures, pedicures and a full body Swedish massage, the spa has a steam room and outdoor swimming pool; the latter handily split into a headed jet pool and cool splash pool. Soulstice also possesses a floatation bath and the Rasual Chamber, which offers a traditional Middle Eastern mud ritual.
