Le Tennessee

Owner-run, clean and welcoming, Le Tennessee is a basic and cheerful hotel situated south of Bohicon, near Abomey, in Zou Department, and serves as a perfectly adequate pitstop when visiting Abomey or heading north or south.

Overview

Set in a purpose-built compound, LeTennessee is consists of a shared area and a range of twin and family sized sleeping rooms. The shared area includes reception, a bar and restaurant, a lounge area, conference room, and gardens. Wi-fi is available and patchy.

Food & service

Anyone who stays at Le Tennessee will inevitably remark on the standard of welcome, the kindness of the staff, and the time and effort spent on guests wants and needs – most will also note the non-digital and in some cases decidedly antiquated checking in and out processes. The food is good standard fare, a mix of Western and Beninese dishes.

Rooms

A mix of stone and corrugugated iron builds, the sleeping rooms at Le Tennessee are either circular standalones or located in single or two storey blocks. Each room comes with a twin bed, fridge, television, and writing desk. Clean and basic, they’re perfectly functional, but unlikely to generate more than the most fleeting of memories.

Activities

Activities at Le Tennessee include exploring Abomey and the Royal Palaces and spending time at Bohicon’s market, which is reckoned to be one of the best in the country.
