A Home Counties boy, Paul grew up near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The childhood benefits of leafy village life having done their work, he proceeded to travel the world, variously funding his wanderlust as an itinerant IT expert, a conservationist at a wildlife rehab and rescue centre in Kafue National Park, Zambia, and a photographer’s speedboat driver in New Zealand. He ended up in Argentina, guiding first in Patagonia and then managing a lodge in the Andes.
His experience serving as the perfect spark for plumping for working in sustainable tourism, Paul moved to London in 2010, and then to Brighton, where he quickly earned his spurs, learning not just the ins and outs of the business, but also developing a love for chimpanzees and gorillas. He is something of an expert in the field, having participated in and arranged many a trip into both Uganda and Rwanda.
Paul joined Journeys by Design in 2015. While clearly a perfect fit for the designing of primate-centred itineraries, his wide-ranging skills and knowledge means he has quickly taken responsibility for sales in a number of key operational areas.
