Laura joined Journeys by Design’s finance department as Accounts Assistant in May 2019, her long experience in accounts and her interests in the environment, wildlife, travel and photography making working here a shoo-in.
After time taken to raise her children, Laura decided to return to study, taking a psychology A level followed by an accountancy (AAT) course, which she did alongside some voluntary work for a local charity.
Her studies done, Laura secured a job in local government finance, where she worked for over 20 years, becoming the accounts payable manager for many years, in addition to covering other roles, including accounts receivable. Her responsibilities at Journeys by Design include keeping the accounts up to date, processing payment runs, bank balance reporting, reconciliations, assisting returns, and payroll.
Having travelled to Africa previously, Laura has a fantastic big-picture perspective of everything we do, and is very much looking forward to travelling there post-Covid.
