For the last decade, Dave has worked with Journeys by Design on a largely freelance basis, variously writing and editing the vast majority of copy for our marketing platforms. He has managed the marketing department on a part time basis for the last four years, and was formally employed by Journeys by Design in November 2019.
Raised in Kenya and the UK, Dave graduated with a BA in History before taking a PGCE and spending the next 16 years teaching, mainly at primary school. As well as teach, he had always written on the side, has an MA in Arts and Education, and left teaching in 2010 to set up his own copywriting company. His responsibilities include managing the company’s marketing initiatives, strategy and planning, and overseeing the production of all promotional materials and marketing campaigns.
An author and co-author, Dave’s books include Whisky: the Knowledge (2015), From Now On (2019) and The Experience Book (2022), the last of which includes a reasonably deep dive into the sapeurs of Brazzaville and Odzala-Kokoua National Park.
