Carole joined Journeys by Design in September 2019, just in time for the Covid lockdowns.
Having qualified in 1984, Carole went on to establish a thriving accountancy practice of her own. It is testament to her ability and all-round business nous that she sold that company to a competitor exactly when and how she wanted to. We are extremely fortunate that she soon after dropped in for a coffee at Africa House, fell into conversation with Will, and ended up accepting a post as Finance Director at Journeys by Design.
Since her early twenties, Carole has had a deep interest in the economic development of the African continent, enjoys its many cultures, and is a lifelong fan of Africa-based jazz. These interests together with the fact that she had over the years represented a number of tour operators made her the perfect candidate for the job of steering – with the help of one remaining team member – the company through Covid. She is ‘pleased to be here at the end of it!’
Covid over and having enriched her already considerable knowledge and skills with research and business trips to the like of Ethiopia and Namibia, she is now in the position to focus on how we can ensure we maintain our positive impact on the communities and conservation in Africa while at the same time keeping a close eye on costs and good financial governance.
